(Cheektowaga, NY, January 20, 2008) - - Things are back to normal online after a hacker got into the Town of Cheektowaga web site.
Cheektowaga police say someone hacked into the web site Saturday night.
By noon Sunday, the site had been fixed.
Authorities say this is not the first time the web site has been hacked.
Officials say they are looking into putting up a different firewall.
    No charges will be filed.

It's not the firewall.. It's the employee in charge.

As far as we know a hacker could have comprimized the NT server the site was on. Once in personal data or other data could have been stolen. Some hackers can jump from server to server once one server is comprimized.

Well there's the epitome of cluelessness...

Try proper input sanitation and programming instead of wasting more taxpayers money on new hardware, which will do nothing...

I haven't looked at the site in a while.

    http://www.town.cheektowaga.ny.us/

Check out the lame "tourist" section.

They couldn't post the 5 pdfs on an internal site page instead of taking them to an off site page. This still has to be hacked because this is way too lame.

Maybe I'm having a senior moment but

Can anyone click on the link just under the "Latest Senior Center News"

    Seniors Club February 2008 Newsletter

    or

    Seniors Club March 2008 Newsletter

Opps I'm sorry... you need to click on the Button not the actual link I suppose.

Why is there a link to "Assemblymember Mark J. F. Schroeder" on the home page?

I looked at the district map and don't see any coverage of Cheektowaga.

Does he cover some of cheektowaga actually?

Why is a link to "Senator Hillary Clinton" there?

Why is there a link to "Senator Charles Schumer" there?

Press your Print Screen button on your keyboard.
open your paint program, it's located in your accessories program when you click on your start button and all of your programs pop up.
click on edit to paste. use the dotted rectangle to get rid of personal info.
    I hope this was helpful
