Falls Police are looking to identify the body of man pulled from the icy waters of Gill Creek late Thursday afternoon.
Three young Falls men made the grisly discovery.
“We were walking along the path (across from Packard Road and the Royal Avenue fire station), my friend and me, and we saw what looked like a body,” said Chris Gordner. “I saw something there earlier, but I didn’t think it was a body then.”
Gordner said when he and his friends Marc Guthrie and Chris Licht walked by again, they became convinced what they saw in the water was a man with his arm up.
“I knew it was because of the (black) hoodie he had on,” Gordner said.
A passing police detective notified firefighters, who came across the street and pulled the body from the water.
“What we have is a white male, middle-aged, with no visible signs of trauma,” Detective Capt. Ernest Palmer said. “We’ll have to wait and see what the autopsy tells us.”
Palmer said police would check missing persons reports for a possible link to the victim.
It turns out it was an accident.....
