    Hickory Woods settlement

What does everybody think of the settlement between the COb and the Hickory Woods homeowners. Better yet, how many families will stay in their homes even AFTER they receive their $30,000 (average) settlement?

I haven't heard about the settlement yet, but as to people staying in their homes...won't they still be required to pay the mortgages on those homes? The banks just won't let you out of the payment will they?

I can't imagine that $30,000 is enough to pay off most people's mortgages. I also don't think anyone is going to try to move into Hickory Woods, so they probably don't get many buyers.

Maybe people will stay because they can't afford not to.

They WILL still have to pay their mortgages...

Problem with this is that its too little, too late...

7-10 million should have gotten everyone out who wanted to SIX YEARS ago, when that range was first introduced to negotiations...

Still, 30k is better than nothing....and last I understood, It didn't include possible health claims later, but I don't know...

When I was involved years ago, there was supposed to be a fund put aside for that specifically....I can't IMAGINE that the health claims (like the one the Blake family had) are included....if they had to simply let that go, it would be a damned shame...

Originally, property claims and health claims were separate....
