    Homeland Security jobs

When Joel Giambra was being scrutinized for his hirings, it came to light that he was using "homeland security" money for pure patronage jobs. Here's what I know:
Senior ASdministrative assistant @ $61,546 (exempt/non civil service)
Senior Administrative assistant (Contract Admin) @ $60,547 (exempt/nonCS)
    Grants Specialist $62,363 (exempt/non CS)
Administrative Assistant @ $51,272 (exempt/nonCS) reports to County Executive

I know that Homeland Security "Ace" Greg Olma filled one of these spots. Anybody have any info on who else is there and if they will be there after January 1???

    Grants Specialist is Janet Voghtli---Republican
Senior Admin Asst is Greg Olma--I believe he scored #1 on his civil service test.
Not sure about the second senior admin spot. I believe Voghtli and Olma will still be around after the 1st--their not managerial confidential positions. I Know Collins made a mistake in the recreatio dept--he fired a Marcia (Something) who worked her ass off--but she got swooped because of slob Andy Sedita--I know she had no connection with him---its too bad.

A leon culluci or colluci... something like that. Stopped here while working on the Clark campaign. Actually told me he was a patronage hire with homeland security by Giambra. Could have been pulling my leg when he told me but he was working on the Clark campaign. I was sort of shocked to see him at the collins fundraiser knowing weeks earlier he was working on the clark campaign.

I thought these jobs were non-exempt/non civil service? What test did Greg Olma take?

Not sure---but I ran into him last week and he said he scored #1 on the test for his position..I would guess its the one he's currently in..I believe those jobs became civil service (henceforth-the test).

Maybe he scored on a test for a job he wants to fall back on. You know, accept the position, Take a leave to stay in the more lucrative exempt position, and if the political climate changes fall back on his permanent position.
It's a common practice in city hall.

By the way, what happened to biker? I miss the old coot.

Is this like what Ed Kuwick did in the legislature? I read in the Buffalo News he is not a Authority Superivisor. Is that like an advance security guard? Forgive me if he's really doing a service worth his salary that we need.

A friend of mine at the county said that Victor Getz has been there awhile ever since he cause so much controversy as a $81,000 driver. In addition, his sister has been there too after they cut her out of the budget, Lisa Basile

Victor Getz has not been around--your friend is wrong. You may be right about the sister.

    Wait.
You're shocked that someone from the Clark Campaign is aligned with Collins?
Clark's cronies may well outweigh Giambras when this is all said and done. All of his people will still be on the payroll.

Even Clark's brother will still be on the County payroll. You know Tim Clark, the Democratic Chair in West Seneca. You know Tim Clark, the Republican, no wait Democrat, no wait Republican.....you get the picture.
What about Tim Greenan, who I believe is Paul's brother in law?
