Read the conclusion HEREThis past April, South District Council Member James D. Griffin announced that the city would have money available to replace broken sidewalks as part of the Seneca Street Redevelopment Project. The resolution went through City Hall and $100,000 was approved; construction work began on schedule and was completed timely this past summer.
It wasn’t until last week when Mr. Griffin realized that a hitch had occurred. The resolution passed for new sidewalks, which was only to cover Seneca Street of the South District, but the former Mayor is raising questions as to why construction crossed the district lines into the Lovejoy section of the city. According to Councilman Griffin, the same workers that had been contracted just for Seneca Street sidewalks also replaced sidewalks outside of a business at 865 Elk Street.
I just found out today that there is 150 feet of new sidewalks unaccounted for on city dollars.
