Could local orchestras & Chorus save our Buffalo churches?

The Buffalo Philharmonic and the Buffalo Chamber Orchestra are giving concerts of Handels Messiah (one of my favorites) along with Beethoven, Bach Vivaldi and Mozart of course..

But most of our Buffalo Churches slated to close seat almost as much as Kleinhans Music Hall.

If retail can make 40% of their entire years profits during christmas then could a proper series of concerts, chorals and church sing alongs create enough donations to keep the church open the rest of the year.

It just seems like churches today replaced the great latin masses with english, they replaced the great organs with guitars, they replaced the great chorals with folk music....and people left. I wonder if the christmas season of masses could really be a musical event perhaps with tickets apart from the donations.

Like the movie sister act, perhaps we might be able to create citywide event for our churches....and for those not in danger...maybe we can create an infrastructure fund to repair all the roofs and masonary etc.

Hey there are alot of musicians and singers that would love extra christmas money and they would love to sing for a local church where they could be surrounded by friends and loved ones and after concert socials.

Are there any church committees out there?
Can we take a clue from the Basilica, BPO and BCO to expand into other local and endangered churches?
