She mentions she will be good for Congress to catch wasteful spending. HEEELLO? Didn't she allow quite a bit of that happen while working for us currently?
Wasteful spending in highway departments and the county furniture issue, other purchasing issues and patronage issues. Isn't a comptroller supposed to be monitoring things like that?

Unfortunately, both the cases cited involved discretionary departmental spending, which, as you know, can be monitored only after its occurrence.
It has been and will be this way, always - until approval of all purchase orders becomes a function the County Comptroller.

Anyone can say "look how good i am once we knew about the issue", what good is that after the fact? Issues in the county were going on for a long time weren't they?
Can someone define for me what a comptroller is supposed to do?
