Uninstall Abode reader and reload it from adobe.
This only started happening to me recently - If I click on a link that's a PDF file, I can't open it, unless I actually save it.
Usually it takes a minute of two, totally freezes up the browser (whether IE or Firefox), then Adobe opens, but the file isn't there.
Ideas?
Uninstall Abode reader and reload it from adobe.

Are there any updates you've recently installed? Or do you need to install any?
I tried uninstalling Adobe, and got an error message. I googled error message and got this page:

Looks like I have work to do. I'll work on it tonight.
Are all of your service packs and windows updates up to date?
the last version of Adobe Acrobat had some screwy stuff in it.

I had the same problem awhile back. Can't remember what the fix was but it was easy. I will rack my brain and get back to you.
Here's another unrelated computer question. I asked my my sister this a few weeks ago....
If you save the same file twice, under the same name, but in different folders - are you taking up twice as much space?
Yep, even I know that oneOriginally Posted by therising

If your intention is to save a copy of the file only once, saving space, you can create a shortcut in one folder that points to the original file in another folder. Instead of normal copy/paste, you'll want to copy the original like normal and then right click to "paste shortcut" instead of paste.
Beware, however, that some programs don't handle shortcuts well. So your mileage may vary.
The newest Adobe Acrobat does have some issues.
When I bought this new laptop, with Vista on it, I just uninstalled it completely and installed the free Adobe Reader.
Otherwise it would try to open both the reader and the trial version of Acrobat at the same time, which would freeze it up.
Let me articulate this for you:
"I'm not locked in here with them. They're locked in here with me!!"
