The one in Amherst (not sure if there is one in NF)? There is a walmart just up the street which always seemed much cleaner and brighter.
K-Mart is closing their Niagara Falls Blvd Store in January
I don't think theirs to many K-Mart's left in WNY
Also, I know the Transit French K-MArt is on the Bubble of being
closed too.

It's a thing they are doing nationwide not just WNY. There are only a few left here on Long Island.Originally Posted by VegasDude
The KMART in North Buffalo is one of highest revenue stores per sqaure foot for the chain even though they have a high theft rate. I think that they do well there because of Wal-mart's strange fear of locating in urban locations leaves them a monopoly for the low-income consumer in the city of Buffalo.
If this is the consumer square store the shuttered K Mart big box has already been leased to 5 new retailers.
They are
They're
Their
Their's
There
There is
Amazingly enough each of these (except for They are and they're) has a different meaning which is not always interchangeable.

Hey Debbie Downer (Vegas Gal): Instead of just reporting the closing, how about reporting on the 5 stores that are already taking its place.
So at the end of the day, the crappy looking KMart will have a brand spanking new look to it:
Amherst plaza signs 5 new stores
Business First of Buffalo - by James Fink Business First
The Boulevard Consumer Square, which is about the say good-bye to one anchor tenant, is poised to welcome five new stores.
The 700,000-square-foot plaza, located on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst, will be seeing its oldest tenant, Kmart, close its 115,600-square-foot store in January. Kmart is shuddering the store as part of a corporate restructuring.
But, while Kmart is closing, its building will not sit vacant.
Developers Diversified Realty Corp., who acquired Boulevard Consumer Square three years ago, has lined up five tenants for what will be the revamped Kmart store. All five stores should be open within the next 12 months.
According to Town of Amherst documents, the Kmart store will be jointly occcupied by Eastern Mountain Sports, Ultra Cosemtics, Christmas Tree Shops, OfficeMax and Old Navy.
Representatives from Cleveland-based Developers Divisified Realty could not be reached for comment.
Old Navy is moving a store it has in a Sheridan Drive strip plaza to Boulevard Consumer Square while Eastern Mountain Sports is shifting its Niagara Falls Boulevard store. OfficeMax is moving over from the Maple Ridge Plaza on Maple Road while the Christmas Tree Shops and Ultra Cosmetics are new locations.
DDR is also planning a 7,100-square-foot out parcel near the Kmart store that will likely house one or two restaurants.
Boulevard Consumer Square is anchored by such tenants Lowe's, Best Buy and Target.
So at the end of the day, the crappy looking KMart will have a brand spanking new look to it:
NOT REALLY
They are not new stores !
The stores are just moving their for cheaper rent !
such as Old Navy is moving from Sheridan Drive
Office Max from the Maple Ridge Center and Eastern Mountain Sports
from Niagara Falls Blvd.
the end result will be more people out of work,
more vacant stores, buildings, plazas and everything in between !
So instead of having one 1 empty building or store
you will have five empty stores

In Vegas and in other cities i've see New Super K-Marts and
Grand K-Marts being built. right next store to a Super Wal Mart,
and Super Target, Wait. I have never seen a Super Target in WNY
EMS owns their own building. I guarantee you that will not stay vacant for more than a few months - tops.
There were 2 other tenants that are new to the area. You failed to mention them.
Anyway, Vegas Gal - your doom and gloom bull**** must be an annoying way to live. If you want to talk about American Axel closing, that's one thing - that's News, good-paying jobs being lost.
KMart closing - who cares? (Besides you.)

Really
All you see everywhere is for sale signs
that say Reduced or New price and
Now your seeing signs that say
"Significantly Reduced" and Substantially Reduced"
Like I said, I am willing to bet. If you like, I will even PM you the name of the company that will occupy it next.Originally Posted by VegasDude

They'll probably hire the three people that still work at K-Mart.Originally Posted by VegasDude
The only people who care about K-Mart closing, besides those few employees, are the few people who, God knows why, still shop there.
So which one are you VegasDude? The guy on the intercom announcing those great Blue Dot Specials, or one of those uniformed shoppers who haven't figured out what the rest of us here in WNY already know .... K-Mart Sucks!
It's too bad that K-mart pretty much sucks, and has pushed out by Walmart, who'll never get a dime of my money
Let me articulate this for you:
"I'm not locked in here with them. They're locked in here with me!!"
