Advice to everybody... before going to the link take a couple hits of crystal meth or smoke a bowl or gulp a pint of Jack. Nobody should have to go through that site stone cold sober.

AlexMaryVale: Why so negative about this article? Do you have something to hide?

This site is well written, and tells the 'Deer Lady' story (whether it's true or not I don't know) from the Deer Lady's point of view. She seems to say that the process against her has been politically-motivated, and not just a feeding the deer issue. Most things in Western New York seem to be politicially motivated (politicians in general don't do things for the public's good around here) - so this won't surprise me if true.

But at least give her a listen. Nothing sounds too absurd about anything she wrote.

It seems like she is trying to save Stiglmeier park for what she says was it's intended purpose - nature. If the politicians are against this, and doing other things for their own good, the Deer Lady is very admirable. But this is a web site page that should at least be looked at and not dismissed as crap.

If you have any opinions or insights into why some part of this 'can't be true' or is 'false', please respond. It helps us all to figure out what the real issues are and not call each other names.

You know what would be a better way to bait and shoot?

Bow and arrow plus we wouldn't have to pay police to do it.

I was talking to some people at the target range and a lot of cities/burbs do it. Much safer than shooting guns where homes are.

I think she did a good job of telling her story on the site.

Is this your neighbor or grandmother? Highly suspicious for your first post.

Why does it make a difference. She cares about her community and the animals. Taking care of animals earns a lot of karma points.

Seeing she shamelessly pluged her site I wonder if she's going to pop up a link back to speakup.

Ok I'll give you that one. However, if she wants to tell her story effectively, she should have it in a format that's easier to read. Or at least have it edited so that it could get her message across more effectively.

Yes, it was my first post. I've been 'lurking' on Speak Up WNY for a few months, and I've never felt that I needed to post until I read the 'take a couple hits of crystal meth or smoke a bowl or gulp a pint of Jack' message. It was just so mean and rude to someone who is trying to help the wildlife or the park itself.

I have no relation to the Deer Lady, nor do I know her. I also don't know any of the politicians or police officers in Cheektowaga either.

I have no agenda for or against the Deer Lady. I just thought it sounded like someone who put her heart out into a message to 'try and get her point out' and that some 'bully' shot her down. As a regular human-being, this just sounds wrong. Shoot her down based on the validility (or lack of validility) of her points, and discuss these. Don't call her names and ignore her points completely.

To use an example in the political arena, I get upset at someone saying 'Hillary Clinton is an evil woman', or someone saying 'George Bush is an idiot'.

It doesn't matter about party affiliation. If Hillary says something about government health care, don't try and tell me 'Hillary is evil'. Discuss the good and bad issues of government health care. If George Bush says something about the Iraq War, don't tell me 'George Bush is an idiot'. Tell me why we need to (or do not need to) do whatever in Iraq.

Not everyone is great at writing or designing web sites.

She has a lot of good information in there. I'm glad she put out the information. Yes, maybe it should be made into many pages, formatted it better, added charts and graphs or anything... but at least the information is there.

Yeah, give her a break. She's like 95 years old.

He defended the woman from some rather callous remarks made by the nepotism nephew. And you find that suspicious?

You read the crap from Alex, and you don't blink. But, when someone defends a person you raise an issue? That's odd.

Brandon - welcome aboard. Don't let the negativity get you down.

The reason I question it is because it's Brandon's first post, like I said originally. And crap from Alex...well....we're all accustomed to regular crap flinging here.

As for the comment about the structure of her entry: I never said there wasn't an abundance of information. But the information gets lost in the formatting. I had to stop reading because it was giving me a headache. If it was formatted better it would be far more effective. Jus' sayin'. If she's serious about keeping that up as a way of getting her word out, she needs to clean that up. I'm not saying that to be persnickety or nasty but just as a fact.

I bet you all didn't know this. It takes one summer for a deer to completely compost minus some of the larger bones. Compost starting time was about when the last of the snow finally melted.

I have one very good spine which is about sun dried white. 1 pair of matching jaws with all their teeth. I have pictures to prove these are all original parts. I believe the jaws would make for an excellent show and tell day at school.
