April 13th Lancaster special Town Board meeting

This coming Wednesday there will a special Lancaster Town Board meeting at 5:30 pm. The meeting will open with an environmental review (SEQRA) on the proposed site of the new police/courts building on 525 Pavement Road.
After that the board is scheduled to consider amending the $8 million bond resolution approved in February 2010 and increasing the amount to $10 million.

The public is invited to attend both sessions. The public cannot comment during the environmental review and can only comment on the bond amendment should the board suspend the rules to allow public comment.

The public should be allowed to comment. Even those who have favored a new build all along have serious reservations regarding the town’s spending anymore on this project that what has already been bonded for and should have their voices heard.

I would encourage others to attend and make known their opinions on a town project that has dragged on for eight years and has already wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars in the interim. Had the town acted appropriately a new build of 40,000 square foot could have been had for under $7 million.

Should the town bond and spend the $10 million, with the purchase price of the Walden Avenue Colecraft Building of $1.69, the cost of the feasibility studies performed, lost taxes on the Colecraft building, building maintenance expenditures, etc., this project will cost the taxpayers somewhere around $13 million – which was the estimate given in a feasibility study to build a new 76,000 square foot building.

    site review???????

Have they done any studies - I mean actual soil sampling and whats possibly buried on or near this site?

Have they investigated whats under where they claim to want to build this time( 525 Pavement) - wasn't that part of an old military/missile base??????

There is and were massive under ground facilities/structures/bunkers in and around that area - all the way up to the property next (north of Walden Ponds) on Peppermint Rd. At one point they wanted to use part of the underground facilities for - of all things - a shooting range!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time will tell but - look what they did with Cole Craft - with Sav A Lot/B.O.C.E.S. School. There's always a plan behind the publicly presented plan with these guys.

Just like many many subdivisions - how many times was the public shown phase one - then when phase two and three starts -

Town Hall say, "OH! This was pre-aproved in Concept drawings presented years ago - its been in the PIPELINE for years."

    We will see!
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !
