Thumbs up Bill#S1909 by Alesi of Monroe Co.

Why is there no interest or info. or thread about this Bill. This bill would redistrict along non- partisan lines in NYS and give people the power of referendum??? Go to the web and pull this up for more details. any current legislator who votes this down or tables it should NEVER BE ELECTED AGAIN. hERE IS SOMETHING THE NEWS SHOULD BE ADDRESSING. Our current districting along party lines means every thing will stay the same and WNY will continue to lose ( except the current legislators and those connected.
We can start making good changes if this is ever passed.

There is no interest because everyone knows that the state legislators are not going to vote for this bill. It could potentially even the playing fields in their own district! It is just a ceremonial bill drafted by Alessi to make it look like he is a "reformer" but can't do anything about it because the other guys won't vote for it.

How is nonpartisan redistricting possible? Referendum, yes, but be very suspicious of any legislator proposing a redistricting bill.
