    MEET GARY DICKSON for Congress

A veteran of the United States Army, Gary spent 27 years as a federal law enforcement official investigating cases of corruption, fraud, and money laundering.

Gary was elected West Seneca Supervisor in 2019 as the first Republican in decades, running on a platform of good government and fiscal responsibility. Gary was overwhelmingly re-elected in 2023. Under his leadership, residents’ town taxes have not increased for four years in a row, and the town is prospering.

Gary is an active community member, previously serving on the boards of the Family Justice Center, a non-profit combatting domestic violence, and the Buffalo-Niagara Coalition for Open Government. He is a member of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce, the West Seneca Historical Society, and the West Seneca Rotary Club.

Gary resides in West Seneca with his wife, Patti. He has two grown sons and two grandchildren.

Why would anyone vote for him since as of now he won't be on the ballot for the General election since he did not file a petition:https://elections.erie.gov/pdfs/Peti...g%204-5-24.pdf

    From: https://politicsandstuff.com/2024/04...titions-filed/

The usual procedure in situations as we have this year with a special election and regular primaries and general elections would be for the parties to select a candidate who will carry the party banner in the special election as well as the general election. That is what occurred with Tim Kennedy, who was first designated as the Democrats’ candidate in the special and then endorsed for the general election.

Not so with the Republicans. Gary Dickson was selected as their candidate in the special in February. But when petitioning began for the general election the name of the candidate on the petitions in NY26 was Anthony Marecki, a Buffalo attorney.

I’m hearing that Marecki is just a “placeholder” name, with the intention that the party will substitute someone else after the petitions are filed. That process must be completed by April 12. The someone else could very well be Dickson but the process is strange. Why didn’t they just put Dickson on the general election petitions.

Or did Dickson just sign up to be the candidate in the special election?

    Had a chat with someone.

Tell me how accurate this is.

Meet Gary Dickson, one of the many political pawns currently being positioned by the republican ruler of the Board of Election, Ralph Mohr.

Since Mr. Mohr has come to power over thirty at the BOE the Chair of the Republican Party of Erie County has been subservient to his wishes and abandoned their role as the peoples’ voice.

The following is just a sliver of what this situation has wrought.

Step right up to the political shell game Mohr has orchestrated in West Seneca with Mr. Dickson running in a special election for the vacated Higgins seat against Mr Kennedy. Gary Dickson and wife Patti Stephens, who is the chair of the West Seneca Republican Party, are taking Mr. Kennedy in race that is not in anyone's column yet.

Enter Mr. Anthony Marecki, an attorney and political traveling drone who used to live in Lancaster the hometown of the Ralph Mohr.
Mr. Marecki and Mr. Mohr have a deal going and that is the way the BOE does business. Obedient Mohr BOE clones gathered valuable signatures for Marecki to be on the ballot against Kennedy in the November election.

Here’s the rub about Dickson not being on the November ballot. If he could win the special election(which I believe he has very little chance) he is in the drivers seat. If he doesn’t win there is a loophole in the election law that states there is only two ways Marecki can get off the ballot.

    DEATH
Only an attorney can be released to run for any judgeship election in New York State. It doesn’t matter where, he would have no chance of winning.

When that happens a special committee would then appoint Dickson to fill his vacancy on the ballot.

All of the above profits only Mr. Mohr. His sly control of candidates is robbing the people of their sacred right to select their own representatives
The in house BOE bartering has already begun to affect the vacated Higgins seat. Mr. Mohr has a long record of losing elections on purpose by supporting people who can’t win because he is more interested in being a power broker for Democrats. He continues to hold his seat and hand out jobs this way and himself and Mr. Zellner can play patty cake with the peoples choice.

Not a 100%, but close. No one circulated petitions for Gary to be on the ballot in November, if they had then there would be a primary. I do not know why Dickson stuck his neck out to run, this is not helping him.

Perhaps we will soon be learning about the issue positions of the other Republican candidate for Congress in NY26, Anthony Marecki. The date for Marecki to decline the party’s designation as the candidate in the general election has passed, so Marecki is the Republican candidate in the district on November 5.
But … Republicans have occasionally moved a candidate away from the office he or she is seeking by getting the person nominated for a state Supreme Court seat in New York City where there is a shortage of Republican candidates prepared to lose an election. The party conventions to select Supreme Court candidates, however, are not until the second week in August.

I have a copy of the Marecki designating petition and a good number of WSGOP Committee members circulated it like Breidenstein, Nowicki, Robertson, Hayes, Sailer, Hinton, Sherman, Tronolone, Patricia Stephens and even Gary himself.
