Did you call and complain? We had the same thing happen in Lancaster (village) and the next week, there was a WM pickup truck that came by about 20 minutes after the regular truck to make sure they were picking up any trash that was dumped.
In Kenmore, if the garbage collector spills some trash on the ground, it is cleaned up right away by the collector. In Cheektowaga, trash day is RAT DAY!
This is Hoerner Avenue, 2/16/2011.

The photos were taken in 4 separate locations. The spills in question were not from my garbage container. I'm pretty sure that many of the residents don't "package" their trash according to town rules.

The same thing happened to me on tuesday 2/15/11 with my garbage and my recycle box. This is not the first time.
