Businessmen In Cheektowaga Concerned About This Casino Issue

BUSINESSMEN IN CHEEKTOWAGA CONCERNED ABOUT THIS CASINO ISSUE.....

The last several weeks has been spent listening to many of the residents and some small business owners in and around the Cheektowaga area. Many had no idea on the detrimental impact it will play on the residents and small business owners in this community of about 100,000 with nearly 65% of those residents being seniors or about to be. Some ask, "Why are you so dead set against casinos"? It's not that I'm dead set against casinos. My point is that a casino does not belong in Cheektowaga or in a community similar to Cheektowaga.

Seeing if this is correct and profits from the casino can not be used to lower property taxes, why would any politicain want one in thier community. Someones pockets getting lined in campaign bribes? What is it? We have enough traffic as it is. What is the money supposed to be used for? To clean up the mess they create?

At a town board meeting some time ago Supervisor Dennis Gabryszak admitted that any monies coming from casino profits were NOT going to be used to reduce taxes. This money , he claims will be used for Industrial Development....The more questions people like you ask, the more and more you will soon see just how bad this casino is for Cheektowaga. Check the Buffalo News, they are printing what I've been say all along.

An engine plant? A manufacturing plant? someone define industrial development. Or do our local politicans have a few more brother-in-laws or cousins that need to get on the payroll? They'll create a Cheektowaga IDA?

Very GOOD, now you're starting to get the idea !!!!
The really important thing here is that not only do we write about this issue to keep others more informed but we also need to act.
I'm sure if more and more readers were to be better informed they would in some fashion come together to make things right for themselves and their community. The big problem is that no matter how many times our politicians are proven to be out only for themselves, the general public still believes in what they say, until it becomes too late to do anything about it.

    Joe,

I got the idea. Think about how many people are related to each other in the cheektowaga work force. Sees odd doesn't it. Look at a few of the very unqualified people in various positions. They give the good employees reason to complain but they don't seeing they wouldn't want to jeopordize thier job. Just look at the over time a few get away with. They would never get away with that in the private sector. I guess that what happens when you have the same ol faces running things.

You are no less than 100% correct. The same faces taking care of each other and screw everyone else. I hate bringing it up but if you remember I was the only one willing to take on the Gabryszak forces head on. This guy went so far as the be a party in committing fraud and perjury against me so I couldn't challenge him. There still may be a possibility of federal charges against him for interfereing in a public election. This is the guy the voters put back into office. You tell me what will it take to wake the voters up and get them directly involved for the betterment of their community. I know I can't fight the fight alone much longer.

Time to drop that and move on. Enless you can get someone to prosecute don't bother bringing it up. Take all the energy to find hte people that would make the community better.
