Election Day is eight weeks from next Tuesday; early voting starts six weeks from Saturday — yet Gov. Kathy Hochul has yet to agree to a single date for even one debate with her opponent, Rep. Lee Zeldin.

In her characteristic never-take-a-real-stand approach to almost everything, she’s said she’s open to debating . . . without committing to anything remotely concrete.

What are you afraid of, governor?

Much like her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, who dodged debates in his run for re-election, Hochul is acting like a chicken.

Even Pennsylvania’s John Fetterman, still unable to speak properly as he recovers from a stroke, has agreed to a debate with his Senate opponent, Mehmet Oz, on Oct. 25.

Hochul has no excuse, certainly not finding time in her not-so-busy schedule: The primary was back on June 28, and third-party offers to host debates started rolling in immediately. Many of those dates have already passed while Hochul hemmed and hawed, but at least two major ones (from CBS2 News and PIX 11) are on the table now — and Zeldin’s already agreed.

The Latest Poll is from The Tralfalgar Group, which has a margin of error rate of 2.9%..



The Poll's Methodology used nearly twice as many Democrat respondents...




The Poll has Lee Zeldin a mere 1.9 points behind Kathy Hochul, basically at a TIE due to the 2.9% margin of error.




Interestingly, the Republican candidate for Attorney General, Michael Henry, IS ALSO POLLING WELL, and, is tie with incumbent, Leticia James,

1)Kathy Hochul leads by 7.6% points but partisan Republican Polls show a close contest.
(Oh really? The Tralfalgar Group Poll above clearly indicates a democrat-heavy response rate - nearly twice as many D's to R's)

2)On Google Search, Hochul trails Zeldin 48-52.
(Perhaps that's what's driving the Zeldin poll numbers - people are informing themselves.)

3)The Approval Rating of Governor Hochul has never crossed 50%. It has mostly been between 42-44%.
(That's b/c she wasn't elected, and the "APOSTLES" she asked for never signed up...at 1:00)



4) Lee Zeldin is three points ahead among upstate voters and in the New York City suburbs.

5) Zeldin is also leading among the independents. He is leading Hochul from 44% to 42%.

6)The major disadvantage of Lee Zeldin is that he is against abortion and gun control law and Hochul is pro both.

7) However, Lee Zeldin has not openly talked and expressed his views on abortion and gun control instead he has been targeting Hochul on laws.

He targets Hochul on laws, b/c she is SOFT ON CRIME and that's what NYers are concerned with right now - crime and the economy.
