The issues you cite did not require incendiary language to convince the voters of something based on prejudiced interpretation, perceptions, and twisted assumptions, or an issue which had been both credibly and authoritatively repudiated.
All three Democrat candidates held the support of the Working Families Party, and two actually carried its banner. The Working Families Party Peoples' Charter specifically calls for defunding the police.
That was, and remains, a legitimate issue; the same issue which may have proved crucial in the defeat of Ms. Walton.
IMHO, it was a huge mistake for the two enrolled Conservatives, running on the Democrat line, to accept the Working Families Party line, and the enrolled Republican running on the same line, certainly did not help himself with his strong suggestions that he favored the the dissolution of the Lancaster Town Police Department in favor of an outsourced law enforcement agency.
That is not going negative Breezy. Such was a legitimate campaign issue for the victors to raise, and it was not negative for the Conservative slate to draw that contrast.
Yep, and the Republican Party has its fair share of nut cases as well Breezy.
It should be prominently noted that the Conservative slate which prevailed last night revealed those elements resident in the Lancaster Republican Party.
