Red face what a shame = Is Buffalo New York a poor city?

Buffalo-Niagara Falls' concentrated poverty rate is the highest in all of New York.

The downtown area of Buffalo, New York is seen from atop City Hall. ... The overall poverty rate in the metro area is 14.2 percent.

Extreme poverty affects 26 out of 291 neighborhoods in Buffalo-Niagara Falls,

Average income in Buffalo is about $24,000.00 a year - many families are supported on far less !

While in the burbs - people are bidding on homes and offering $50,000.00 over asking price.

Is this the new "Equality" they keep speaking about ?
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !

I will not dispute your numbers, I will accept them as factual. I believe that most politicians and community leaders are also aware of these numers. What is at issue is why this is occuring, not to point a finger of blame but to find a solution. Change has to start from within and with strong leadership from people who are not interested in political gain but in genuine improvement.
I invite suggestions in this forum on how to improve our city.

YOU have been selective in your statement..In Buffalo..even "poverty neighborhoods" Houses are selling very quickly ..in some cases for $40/50k over inflated listing prices...this is all over..because of competition with fewer properties available for sale. There is a lot of $$ out there..many homes are going for cash...and these are not just investmment properties ..but single family occupancy.

After all the years of running speakup this is one of the problems... "political gain"

Something I find tacky is when someone wins an office and shortly after decides to run for another higher office if the seat becomes available. They can't even keep their original commitment when they ran for the office they are in. Err something like that.
