Are books consider recyclable items or are they consider garbage ?? I have lots of large military teaching books that are very old I want to get rid of.

If they are military, maybe AmVets would like them. Then it becomes tax deductible.

Recycling centers will take books, though they may require you to cut off any hard covers.

It's better to donate them to a library, charity, historical society or other group than destroy them.
