Cheektowaga cop decked a supervisor but couldn't be fired

In theory, Christmas parties are happy events. But blood spilled when the union representing Cheektowaga police officers gathered for a holiday bash 13 months ago.

Bad feelings were brewing between an officer, Sean Trapper, and a sergeant, Garrett Slawatycki. They took it outside.

The union contended that other officers accused of serious wrongdoing in recent years had not been fired. Cheektowaga officers accused of driving while intoxicated, fighting in bars and disabling the GPS systems in their patrol cars had kept their jobs, according to evidence presented to the arbitrator.

disabling the GPS systems in their patrol cars
    Why?

the cop has been in trouble before with hitting a person but that didn't stop the town from hiring him. Res all politics to get him on the force now they have to deal with him. Should be fired like the chief wanted him to be you just can't go around and hit people. Trapper really lumped this guy up he should never see the inside of a patrol car again keep the problem inside counting tickets and take the gun away if they are smart.

I would like to know what reason an officer could have given to the town board as to why they disabled the GPS in a patrol car that would have keep them from being fired.

They think they can do what they want and get away with it. How about the ones getting a DWI off duty and nothing happens to them. You have the same thing going on in Tonawanda with that lug head cop they're trying to fire. A lot of it is politics and who got them in good to see the news now can report on this and the PD cant stop them now. now they got to get the videos out. Like to see the lug head trapper drop this guy. Can you imagine what the city has covered up?

so trapper decks the sergeant damn he wacked him good.https://www.syracuse.com/state/2021/...tside-bar.html and he still has his job
damn you think Slawatycki had a headache first of all cop parties are bad news for everyone they can't control their behavior
The newspaper said the Cheektowaga Police Department denied a Freedom of Information Law request for the video, which was obtained during an internal investigation, but Town Attorney John Dudziak agreed with the newspaper’s appeal to release the footage with Slawatycki’s face obscured. Good job by the news in getting the video
six months no pay is good and never see the inside a patrol car should go with it. Keep this hot head inside the station before he hits another person thats two already.

The Buffalo News reports Slawatycki suffered a black eye, a chipped tooth and a cut that required stitches, investigators said Trapper told the sergeant not to walk away from him as Slawatycki appeared to be leaving the bar. When Slawatycki turned back towards Trapper, with his arms at his side, Trapper shoves him and punches him before pulling Slawatycki out-of-sight. Another clip shows Slawatycki, who was previously wearing a red hat, holding it in his hand afterwards.

also no one wearing a mask inside the bar. maybe the mask could of saved slawatycki tooth

Sundays paper "Gould mum when aggressor in fight sought to be a cop. 11 years later trapper punches a supervisor at an off duty gathering. So trapper wackes the neighbor where he lived and was charged with assault for hitting an older man 30 years older than him before being a cop in 2009. That night of the fight Sargent Gould shows up with other cops arrests trapper. The following year Trapper without objection from Gould to any wrongdoing the Cheektowaga police dept hires Trapper. Gould said the hiring review panel had all the reports from the rumble on Woodlawn terrace. Why was he hired the news can't figure the story out trappers' hire was all political. If would not have mattered what he did that night, he was to be hired. The News needs to look at what went on politically and did the chief at the time had anything to do with trappers' hire.
