Well I do like trolling on facebook. It would make it easier to drop a line on facebook and pull people into speakup.

I would never do what twitter/facebook did. Literally block those who's opinion I don't agree with. Only time a few threads were removed were when they got totally out of hand.

I'm surprised that twitter/facebook would go to the extent they did.

I saw GO FOR IT!!! Good idea to bring the site into a new more modern format.

I have hoped for a long time that users could post videos and pics so everyone could see them, not just members.

I felt that is was a bit uneven that some people could post these things for all viewers, but most cannot. Like playing football with one arm tied behind your back. Most readers are not members so they probably get confused because they can't see these things unless they join, or for those who are already members they have to sign in to see these things.

    Great idea for the upgrade!!!!!

Well if we do this I'm doing it from a monetization point of view. I am in my final 11 years of business. When I hit 50 years in business I'm just going to hand my keys to who ever is working with me.

Including using it to promote clients we work with. Some of our clients I have knows for over 25+ years.

Will still be "members". No anonymous posters. There is nothing stopping you from embedding youtube up if you want. Or twitter items..Or images....

I might just let Vbull do the upgrade once we move the site over to new equipment.

    Hello.

The upgrade for your site should be reasonably straight forward, provided the details in the upgrade instructions are followed carefully. With that number of posts on your site however, I'd recommend that you use SSH to run the upgrade script.

You can order the Professional Upgrade service from our website. The cost is $149. You can order this by going here:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/

Click on the 'Login' link at the top, log into your account, then press 'Purchase', scroll down, and then click the 'Get Add-Ons' button. You will see 'Professional Installation/Upgrade' - choose that and continue to follow the instructions from there.

Once you purchase the upgrade service you will need to enter the Member's Area at members.vbulletin.com to fill out the Worksheet located under the License Details & Options section. The worksheet asks for these details.

    - FTP server, username and password
    - MySQL server, username, password and database name
    - URL of homepage and forums
    - Forum Admin login info

Once that form is filled out and submitted correctly, the installation/upgrade enters our queue. Pro Installs/Upgrade are assigned in the order they are received and depending on the size of the queue, it can take up to 7 business days before a support team members claims your Install/Upgrade (depending on the number of other requests in the queue and their complexity).

Upgrading will always overwrite any hacks or changes you made to the vB files. However you will have to disable and/or remove any add-ons prior to upgrading. After the upgrade you can contact the authors of those add-ons to see if they have updated versions.

Also any custom vB 4.x styles and templates will not be compatible with vB5. You will have to redo your customizations after upgrading.

    Best regards,
