Hertel Avenue tensions delay $11m project
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tensions related to two recent protest marches down Hertel Avenue - and a third planned for Friday evening - have prompted the developer behind an $11 million senior housing project to ask Buffalo officials to delay their approval process.
McGuire Development Co. was supposed to begin the review process for its planned 43-unit, three-story senior housing project at 179 Sanders Road during the Buffalo Planning Board's Sept. 8 meeting, Instead, the developer asked the city to postpone a scheduled public hearing that would have triggered the review process until the board's Sept. 21 meeting.

You have to feel for the businesses that are effected by this. Especially the ones who have nothing to do with the reason why the protest began.
