    Lancaster shares reopening survey results
    Lancaster Bee

In the recent Western New York school reopening survey, people affiliated with Lancaster Central accounted for 12.8% of responses.

Many of Lancaster’s results were similar to the region overall, but Lancaster respondents were more confident in kids returning to school – 66.7% were confident or strongly confident compared to the region’s 62.2%.

Lancaster also had a higher percentage of people who agree with reopening normally in the fall, with safety measures, and resuming full participation and audience attendance for sports and extracurriculars.

About 41.9% of Lancaster respondents would transport their own child to reduce bus loads, which is less than the regional percentage of 47.6%.

On a related note, 53.3% of Lancaster respondents are comfortable with their children riding a normal capacity bus if the bus is deep cleaned or sanitized – a significant difference from the region’s 45.3% of all respondents.

Wow. This will be interesting. There's still an assumption that parents are going to be home and readily available to watch their children. I normally work from home, but I tell you, it's not easy at all with 3 kids here with me. They also don't take into consideration multiple children in multiple schools. Are they all in the same group?

Most likely a hybrid form where working parents will be in a lot of hurt.

Districts also had to address how they will accommodate three types of instruction: in school, remote and a hybrid mix of the two.
