Supervisor Benczkowski Seeks Residents to Serve on Supervisor's Budget Advisory Committee:

Supervisor Diane Benczkowski is once again seeking residents to take part in the Supervisor’s Citizens Budget Advisory Committee. The committee was first formed in 2016 to receive resident input in evaluating and recommending expense reductions to the Supervisor, with the ultimate goal of reducing the tax burden for all residents. More than a dozen residents have taken part each year with the Supervisor incorporating millions of dollars in recommended savings in her 2016 to 2020 Town budgets.

“Resident input is so crucial to town government and what better way for residents to get involved than having a say in how their tax dollars are spent,” said Cheektowaga Supervisor Diane Benczkowski. “I have been impressed by the due diligence and dedication from the residents that have taken part, and their hard work has resulted in real savings for our Town. It is my hope that more residents will take part this year and voice their opinions on how the town should spend their tax dollars.”

Budget Director Stanley J. Kaznowski, III will once again lead the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee and the committee will make recommendations to the Supervisor as she prepares the 2021 Town budget. The Town Supervisor is tasked with preparing and submitting a budget annually to the Town Board, with the Town Board having final approval.

Residents interested in becoming a member of the Supervisor’s Citizens Budget Advisory Committee can submit a letter of interest to the attention of the Supervisor via mail to Town Hall, 3301 Broadway, Cheektowaga, NY 14227 or by emailing supervisorsoffice@tocny.org. The Supervisor’s Budget Advisory Committee is a voluntary and informal committee started by Supervisor Diane Benczkowski to encourage resident participation and input in Town government. Meeting dates and times will be determined once the committee has enough participants. Most likely this year these meetings will take place via video conferencing.
