Maybe some good news at last

I was heartened to read that the Feds may have finally stuck a fork in the idiotic expansion plan for the failed, outmoded and basically useless subway. The Mink is still putting a happy face on their plan, which one has to really look at to truly understand it’s stupidity. But the feds are requiring them to look at an alternative high tech bus system. Of course NFTA is sticking by its plan because why would one want to improve the system by adopting an energy efficient universally flexible system when you can waste a billion dollars on a system that is a white elephant when the first shovel of dirt is turned.

I don't even understand why the fed would be involved in purely local infrastructure.
It should be state and local gov'ts. The fed needs to be away from funding all sorts of stuff within states.
Vote for freedom, not political parties.
    Politicians need to cut spending

Gee sharky, next thing you’ll be saying that New York State should be responsible for paying the unemployment insurance for the millions of New Yorkers driven out of their jobs against their will by New York’ s governor.

Public transportation is the future. Everyone owning their own cars is not sustainable!

People have been saying that since I was a kid and that’s been awhile. Public transportation is failing everywhere because people don’t want to use it. Leaving aside the human tragedy that is the subway in NYC, our subway is a craphole of rot and decay. The NFTA when confronted with the decades long fact of decreasing ridership, didn’t even know it and couldn’t explain it. Maybe, just maybe, the overpaid political bootlicks and asswipes who run it ought to hop on board and give it a ride so that they too can enjoy the ambiance
