Using tote bags instead of plastic could help spread the coronavirus

Using tote bags instead of plastic could help spread the coronavirus

The COVID-19 outbreak is giving new meaning to those “sustainable” shopping bags that politicians and environmentalists have been so eager to impose on the public. These reusable tote bags can sustain the COVID-19 and flu viruses — and spread the viruses throughout the store.

Researchers have been warning for years about the risks of these bags spreading deadly viral and bacterial diseases, but public officials have ignored their concerns, determined to eliminate single-use bags and other plastic products despite their obvious advantages in reducing the spread of pathogens. In New York state, a new law took effect this month banning single-use plastic bags in most retail businesses, and this week Democratic state legislators advanced a bill that would force coffee shops to accept consumers’ reusable cups — a practice that Starbucks and other chains have wisely suspended to avoid spreading the COVID-19 virus.

That’s the difference between political correctness and intelligence. And I’m sick and tired of hearing about Cuomo's “leadership” on this issue. Has anyone looked at the numbers? California with twice our population has less than 1/10th number of cases that we do. Texas, half again bigger the NYS, has less than 500 cases. Fla. as big as NYS, has 1/10th cases and that’s God’s waiting room! His “leadership” has been successful in only one metric ,as an exercise in Democratic Totalitarian government. As far as disease control, phew! With 1/20th of the nation’s population we have 1/2 of the nation’s cases.

I was thinking of sending the Buffalo news a case of lubricant. This way when this if over they can easily pull their heads out of Cuomo's and other elected officials butts. I was surprised at the ass kissing articles.

WNY, were you really surprised? If we had a Republican Governor and half of America’s corona virus cases they’d be calling for his removal from office.

Yeah I was surprised because it was so overly done even for the Buffalo News.

And now King Cuomo wants to fine businesses that defy his rules, $10,000

How many small businesses will be bankrupt when this is all over?

Isn't that so odd he can stop private sector business but allows in general "government" business to continue as normal.

What this shut down has exposed, is just how many people are so willing to give up their Rights, Freedom and Liberties. Its quite appalling actually. And Cuomo has also exposed him self to be a piss poor leader to boot. We are the capital of the country with more cases, yet other states have more people and less cases.

FMD, you’re absolutely correct. CA & TX, each with millions more people than New York, have far, far fewer cases, and, at least in the case of TX, a much lower mortality rate. FL, quite likely larger than NY, is faring better than we are. Well people didn’t give up the freedom, it was taken from them, with support of a largely Democratic Totalitarian media. Does anyone really believe that the clowns at the Democratic Totalitarian public relations operation, known locally as Ch 2 News is really going to” hold people in power accountable” when it’s a clown like Poloncarz they’d have to go after? And it seems that FL is becoming concerned that NY’ers are going to FL and spreading the infection to them.
