It is true that Lancaster has dropped from 83rd in the past several years to 47th and will continue dropping as its staff was filled with many younger teachers whose salaries increase dramatically after 15 years of teaching experience.
By how much is another matter when considering other districts with retiring teachers will fill positions with lower-paying teachers.
LCSD has done a commendable job in putting the school district meeting recordings on the website. I would hope that the district would also post recordings of the 2010-21 budget work sessions on as well. The budget work session agenda and data are posted on the website, but listening to the board review the data clears up a lot of uncertainties.
