There is a town resident who doesn't see happy about this.
Why would this be a bad thing?
PACWNY IN DISCUSSIONS WITH TOWN OF CHEEKTOWAGA REGARDING FESTIVAL
Polish American Congress, Western New York Division has engaged in preliminary discussions with Cheektowaga Town Supervisor Diane Benczkowski regarding transitioning operations of the Polish-American Arts Festival from the Town of Cheektowaga to the Congress.
Polish American Congress, Western
New York Division President, James L. Ławicki II commented, "The PAC, at the request of the Town of Cheektowaga, has engaged in a positive dialogue with town leaders to assess the feasibility and viability of taking over the Festival.
As the Festival is a legacy event and one that represents the entire Polish American Community and Polish culture, it's important that it be preserved, expanded, and improved.
We have assembled a team of highly experienced individuals to engage in due diligence with the Town of Cheektowaga to assess the possibility of assuming the event. This is a very large undertaking that requires proper and careful evaluation."

Pulaski Association looks to move Polish-American Festival to September
https://www.cheektowagabee.com/artic...EEmUNGYQD-MPkEThe Town of Cheektowaga’s annual Polish-American Arts Festival is a time for Western New Yorkers to celebrate the area’s rich history and connection to Poland.
As the festival plans for its 43rd year, President of the Pulaski Association of Western New York Joseph Mikolaj Rej Jr. thinks the best way to honor the area’s rich Polish past is by changing the festival’s future.
Rej spoke during the Town of Cheektowaga’s Nov. 12 work session about the possibility of holding the annual festival – which consists of vendor presentations, an outdoor Mass and the annual Pulaski Day Parade – during the month of September rather than July. According to Rej, keeping the festival in July creates a lot of competition with other cultural events happening throughout the area.
Last year, the festival fell on the same date as the Italian Heritage Festival.
“I bet you there are more Polish people that go to the Italian festival than the Polish festival,” Rej said.
Likewise, hosting the festival in September will allow school bands to participate in the Pulaski Parade.
Rej, who was appointed the president of the organization in June, also presented the town with a $26,000 offer: pay the association and they will not require any labor from the town. He went on to say that increasing the amount allocated to the association for the festival will save the town money as they will not have to pay for the extra policing or labor.
