    Anyone know Ralph Lorigo?

Someone has to tell this man to GO AWAY.

Ralph? Don't take away any votes that could be votes against the "democratic" candidate. WTF is wrong with you.

Is someone putting you up to this?

STATEMENT OF RALPH C. LORIGO, ESQ.
Conservative Candidate for Governor of New York

Today my running mate for Lt. Governor, John Andrew Kay, and I each received a sufficient number of votes to qualify us to run in the Conservative Party Primary on September 14th, 2010. Because we are both registered members of the New York State Conservative Party, we cannot be denied access to the primary.

We are running because we believe it is essential to nominate real conservatives in order to win at least 50,000 votes from conservative voters in the general election to preserve the future of the Conservative Party.

I am confident that our pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and traditional marriage views will prevail over the pro-abortion, pro-gun control and pro-Cuomo sub-prime mortgage record of former Congressman Rick Lazio, a moderate Republican. We look forward to a spirited and issue-oriented campaign in which we are anxious to contrast our views with Mr. Lazio and his running mate.

We are encouraged that Mr. Lazio, who, as a registered Republican, required 51 percent of the vote to run in our Party primary, received a mere 53 percent of the Party vote. Conservative Party members, ready to stand up for conservative principles, are welcome to join our campaign at www.LorigoforGovernor.com. We are confident we can raise sufficient funds to be competitive in the Conservative Primary where less than 200,000 registered Conservatives are eligible to vote.

    Fyi

He's a lawyer, Erie County Conservative Party Chairman, Developers Friend, Party Endorsement broker who supports mainly Democrats.

If he's in the mix its strictly as a spoiler and to use it as bargaining leverage.

He'll end up throwing his weight toward which ever candidate looks like they offer the best deal for him.

    Fyi

Joseph Paladino is Carl Paladino's brother and Sr. VP of Ellicott Development.

If you noticed the RSVP goes to Raymon Caputo, Michael Caputo is Carl's Campaign Manager.

If Lorigo wins, he drops out and they can put Carl Paladino in, if Carl wins the Republican Primary.

Lorigo "WORKS" for whomever gives him the best payoff. It is NEVER about the best candidate!

    Exclamation Assuming

First, if there is any deal between Carl and Ralph - you would first have to believe Ralph would keep his word.

Ralph could be just siphoning off enough to hurt Carl and draw from Lazio. This would actually suit Andrew just fine and insure the Conservative Party a seat at the Dem table after election day. You can't use conventional logic when it comes to Politics.

Believe it or not, the Dems really need Western NY. The Repubs are just hoping to ride the "Unhappy with Dems" wave.

Even Cuomo's anti Union/Pension Investigation started by Duffy won't hurt him much. Dems are in a tuff spot in this race. The Party boys will line up as always - regardless of who their Committee Endorses. Yet, as when they backed Mayor Brown(Localy) - Andy could end up being just a bit too independent.

I think things will heat up by Aug/Sept.

Think it is a pretty good assumption, when you read a fund raiser invitation for Lorigo being given by Carl Paladino's brother.

Now Ralph keeping his part of the "deal" is a whole other ballgame or as you said "slicker than a snakes belly"

Because State Chairman Mike Long has other plans!

These are all cut n paste from other articles:

CONSERVATIVE LORIGO TO ATTEMPT RULES GAMBIT

Let me preface by writing this same gambit was used in the the 26th Congressional race two years ago. The IP nominated an attorney. Later the attorney declined in lieu of a Supreme Court nomination in NYC. I believe Chris Lee ended up with the line via the Committee on Vacancies?

"Erie County Conservative Chairman Ralph C. Lorigo is hoping to use a little-known quirk in election law to head off his party's expected nomination of Republican Rick Lazio for governor.

Lorigo wants to galvanize enough Conservative committee members to nominate a lawyer registered in the party at its convention tonight friday in New York. Then, after the Republican primary, that lawyer would decline the nomination and accept the nod of a Conservative judical nominating convention to State Supreme Court … the only way (other than death) that a candidate can be removed from the ballot.

A committee on vacancies then would nominate the winner of the Republican primary for governor, Lorigo explained, in a move that would ensure Republican and Conservative unity.

He is taking the drastic step, he said, to prevent the possibility that fractured minor party lines could threaten the required 50,000 vote threshold for maintaining the permanent Conservative presence on the ballot. He fears, he said, that if his preferred candidate … Buffalo developer Carl P. Paladino … is denied the Conservative nomination, Paladino will siphon off right-of-center votes on a "tea party" line he threatens to form.

That, Lorigo said, could doom the party. He again pointed to state Chairman Michael R. Long's support for Lazio as the impetus for Paladino to form another … and threatening … minor party." Published report ...

The Buffalo News Bob McCarthy last week wrote that if Carl Paladino doesn't get the Conservative line, quoting Erie County Conservative Chairman Ralph Lorigo, Paladino, et al. will attempt to put together a new ballot line; some suggest a Tea Party line. McCarthy continues, again quoting Lorigo, this will could put the Conservative line in jeopardy.

"Now Lorigo will make the case that if Levy or Paladino forms a tea party line, it could pull enough votes to threaten the future of the Conservative Party by failing to garner the required 50,000 votes. He said he is “shocked and surprised” at Long’s maneuver. “All those high stakes are there,” Lorigo said. “This is the decision of an individual, as opposed to a body.” (In NYS a party has to garner 50,000 in the governor's race to keep a ballot line.)

ERIE COUNTY RALPH LORIGO MAKES THE PRIMARY BALLOT!

Lets be clear Ralph Lorigo has to win the primary in order to resign the ballot to accept a Supreme Court nomination for his strategy to work. However, Ralph makes an excellent point when he says Mike Long's candidate, Rick Lazio, does not reflect true Conservative values. The Right to Life & traditional family are the cornerstones of the Conservative doctrine. Mike Long himself said that the Party would not endorse candidates who did not reflect these values. The problem Long has is the only candidate on the GOP side that can run a reasonably viable campaign is Lazio. There is no doubt in my mind that if Paladino carries the line the Conservative Party loses the line in November; unlike Lorigo's position that if Lazio carries the line we arrive at the same result. Having written all of that: Great credit goes to Lorigo for making the primary ballot, brilliant! ...

"Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio has won the endorsement of New York's Conservative Party. It's a boost for Lazio, a former Long Island congressman seeking the GOP nomination for governor. Most successful statewide Republican candidates also run with the Conservative Party backing."

“My fight is over the strength and survival of our party. Never before has our party leader stifled the vetting of all candidates for the office.” Ralph Lorigo

"I am not going to make decisions as your leader based on worrying about the outcome. Leadership is about taking risk. Leadership is about facing the enemy, and the enemy are the liberals of this state who have brought us to where we are,” said Long. “You know what? The press is here. And I don’t want the headline to read, ‘Conservatives worried about where they are in this state.'" Chairman Mike Long
