Thank you for posting the Lancaster Sun report, Gorga. Unfortunately, many of us don’t get the Lancaster Sun subscription. That may soon change as several residents are unhappy with the Lancaster Bee political coverage and are considering making a switch.
The report is welcome to those of us who have been active in Lancaster politics for decades and have criticized the town for not updating a comprehensive plan near twenty years old; a generic plan at best that was approved lacking in zoning prudence and good judgement, resulting in code amendments that brought about numerous rezones and rezones of rezones; dumb growth.
This administration board is deserving of credit for undertaking the comprehensive plan updating, setting a moratorium on rezone development until plan completion, taking a hard look at the zoning codes and establishing new district codes to address the uncontrolled growth that has been plaguing the town for decades.
The departing administration also deserves recognition for its involvement in the garbage contract negotiated, the undertaking of a reassessment program, grant application for a new dog control facility, and its pro-action regarding infrastructure needs and flooding drainage issues.
