October 2, 1913 - Save Buffalo from the Politicians

I'm playing on fultonhistory.com and found this

"1156 Lovejoy, Charles A. Klocke, Real Est. & Ins."

That's the house I grew up in. We always knew it was a glove factory at one time but now I know the company name. The Klocke Glove Co. factory. They had an ad in the 1909 Buffalo Courier. They needed " An experienced operator on working gloves and mittens, to act as a forelady; good pay to right party. Call at Klocke Glove Co. Factory, 1156 Lovejoy Street, Buffalo; day or evenings 29t30"

I also looked up George Fracasso that my grand father talked about in the past. I see they were well known in Cheektowaga.

I see George Fracasso as vice-chair ran for the town's Republican committee's chairman position.

If you look his name up you'll see he was very involved in politics.

His name was also mentioned in the Cheektowaga Bee - 'Out of the Past' column

I don't think he was. Years ago my grand father always said how "few" people were around with the last name Fracasso. This was before the internet. He did say there was a George Fracasso but they weren't related. Now I'm wondering. A woman through Ancestrydna.com contacted me about my grand fathers dad. My great grand father. She thinks he had a brother or two. I don't remember my grandfather mentioning any uncles he had on his dad's side but this woman thinks there were because we pulled up on our DNA as cousins. She's looking deeper into it.

I didn't go to bed until 4:30 am the night before. I have been on fultonhistory.com looking up fracasso.

My uncle and grand father told me stories how they had parties in the basement of the bar during prohibition. I found a few articles where they were raided and caught with "barrels" of beer and a few quarts of wine. Funny.

I knew Jerome. He was my grandfather's sister's husband.

    This was in 1945.

Then found this from 1954. I remember that he used to make wine. I can't remember if he grew the grapes or not but do remember he made "italian wine".
