    That's a Lot of Trees!

Even as stretch goals go, I think this is just silly...

There's apparently a thought to plant 1,000,000 trees (over the course of five years) in the Town of Amherst. That's an average of 20,000 for every square mile of the town. A typical 12,000 square foot piece of property (100 x 125) will call (on average) for 10 new trees. Sure, these are all statistical averages, but still. LOL.

    Who/what originated this idea?

Kulpa said he doesn't know how much the initiative will cost, but he expects the town will be eligible for state matching grants once it completes its ongoing tree survey.
Start a campaign and raise your own money to plant trees. Why do people in "government" think you should take other people's money for things you want?

Do you really have an issue with trees?

I miss my trees. If I was rich I would have bought the property next to the shop just to leave it as it was. When I was doing my accounting looking out the window behind my desk it just looked like a peaceful yard. Now I get to see people dropping Tim Horton's trash.

I love my trees too. I, only have 4 old maples that when fully leafed provide a canopy of shade and coolness in my yard.
When they clear everything off the land for a residential development, I think to myself what are you people thinking
