Home is where the hurt is: How property taxes are crushing Illinois’ middle class
https://www.illinoispolicy.org/story...ga1MFaPmzyefq4Joel Schurtz lived all across the U.S. before coming to Illinois. He took promising job opportunities where he could find them, from California to Alabama. His wife, Michelle, and their three young children would follow.

Here is what I don't understand.
Over the years many people on our local town boards all say they know property taxes are high.
Unless they are living under a rock they know the area is losing population (net tax payers) including businesses.

I don't count population growth when 1000's of people are imported into the area that require social services. IE: refugees. I believe approximately 14,000+ have been actively imported into the city of Buffalo.
So why do some local town boards allow rising service cost continue? Good example is Cheektowaga. What are they waiting for? 7 votes and lets start looking at privatization and true budget cuts. Not "fluff", actual actions that will lower our property taxes. If our hands are tied then stop supporting those who tie them.
