Sounds like it should read volume and not pressure. I had a generator installed and it was running rough from time to time.
tech came out and said the meter was a standard 200 cubic foot meter, generator was high draw and I had a gas fireplace added a few years back. An installer turned up the pressure at the meter to make up for lack of volume, not how that works, now the generator likes about 6 lbs and the pressure was at about 12 lbs at the meter, now too much pressure caused erratic operation. Solution; national fuel came out and installed a 400 cubic foot meter, brought the pressure back down to normal and now no problems. Cost about $100 for new meter, installed in 2 days.
