VIVE Buffalo Says 100 Refugees from Congo Arrived in WNY

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) VIVE Buffalo says 100 refugees from Congo have arrived, making the trek across the ocean to Brazil, through Central American and Mexico. They are seeking asylum in the US."Over the last ten days, we have seen 100 asylum seekers," says Anna Ireland with VIVE Buffalo. "It's a huge influx of people at one time, and we are working on getting basic needs."
Ireland says her shelter is just under the maximum capacity, and normally there are 10 to 20 people at a time at the shelter per week. "We are managing to pull together needs but we are also asking people for help," says Ireland.

    I've been thinking about this.

I understand the situation but why would groups actively bring people who need financial support to a community who already have many people who need financial support?

Wouldn't the group of people imported have better support options in areas of the USA who have a population with higher yearly incomes?

I saw this on their website

Due to an influx of residents at Vive, our shelter for asylum seekers, we are in urgent need of some items, including towels, toiletries, and sheets. Items can be purchased via our Amazon shopping list here.

Financial investments are also welcomed at http://jrchc.org/donate.

    Thank you for your support!

The perfect place to house these refugees is a large tent..pitched in Mark Poloncarz' yard...then he can savor the fruits of his support for immigration in this County...and WAIT!! "NIMBY!" I meant on the taxpayers of ERIE COUNTY.
Perhaps the directors of International Institute, Journey's End and Catholic Charities six figure paid officials will also offer their homes, and sustenance at their expense ...to show how genuine they are in helping these refugees get settled!

I'm sure if the Buffalo News or local TV stations contact those 6 figure employees they could easily show the amount of donations they have made to date for 2019.
