The Woman that is fighting hard to get this bill passed is mentally handicapped.
Buses to nowhere, or so it is when you have to ride a PAL bus. PAL stands for Para Access Line buses. Those that are in a wheel chair or have a handicap know them well. The NFTA has been resisting extending the routes that these buses run on from .75 to 1.5 miles. Yes only 3/4's of a mile. People that require these buses for medical or business visits to places like the NYS DDSO offices in West Seneca can't get there. They have to roll or walk from the So. Gate Plaza.
These rides aren't free. Those that use these buses pay for the privilege of getting stranded in any weather at an out door bus stop or far from home when they return.
Legislation in both state houses has been written. in the Senate it has passed out of the tranportation committee and is gone to finance.
In the Assembly it lacks a sponsor since the Democrats took power. Not a local rep. will take up the bill! Not a one is willing to help. WHY?
They are abusing the handicapped community of WNY with their indifference. The woman who the bill is named after has been deceived and lied to by our local representatives many times.
I can only hope that they loose control in November.

There have been prior reports of people in wheelchairs left a stops in driving snow and who were rescued by storeowners and others. This outfit rakes in untold millions of dollars in taxpayer money, its sneak chairman can afford to give sneak raises to already overpaid do nothing executives and yet they continually have refused to address this issue. When someone finally dies as a result of these policies, and someone surely will, the entire board and the top executives should get life in prison.
Why wouldn't something like this go through? What is the point of not doing it?

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just pay for an Uber for these people?
