Yippie! My number wasn't called.... - jury duty

Fun wow. I got a letter last week about Jury Duty

Being self employed doesn't make going to jury duty easy. If I'm not at my office to do the work I don't make any money.

I've only gotten their letter twice. The first time my number didn't come up.
The second time, my number did come up along with 2 of my co-workers.
I was let go at noon the first day along with a bunch of others. They said we weren't needed.
So, I went back to work. My co-workers had to stay.

Just tell them you are a member of the Fully Informed Juror's Association, and you are looking forward to exercising and applying your Constitutional duties to any court case you are assigned to.

They will not be able to get rid of you fast enough.

WNY, my understanding is that the last person that lawyers want on a jury is someone who might not be able to finish service because of a crisis that forces the court to release them. They want people who can complete the service without a lot of distracting pressures. They have a lot riding on the trial, too.

Why would they feel that way? Not every law is unjust, you know....unless you feel that no one should ever be prosecuted for anything. Odd as it seems, there’s an appeal process that actually works a lot of the time. And if you’re such a fervent advocate for jury nullification why aren’t you encouraging the like-minded to hide their feelings so that they can serve and nullify? If more people willingly served instead of doing everything short of dancing naked to avoid it the system would certainly work better. It’s not that bad.

Yippie.... almost like winning your $1 back on a lottery ticket. Don't have to go tomorrow

Jurors with the ID numbers 82-1000 you are not to report on Tuesday. You are to go about your normal business but must check back to this site Tuesday evening after 6:00 pm for more information regarding Wednesday.

I'm surprised the website is at wix.com

If I didn't have so many people depending on me during the day I wouldn't mind being on jury just to see how it all works.

Your term of service has now ended and your obligation to call and/or report is now over. Even though you did not physically report, this does constitute your service and you will be given “good service” credit for eight years.

    Totally awesome!

This week hasn't been fun. I have a case of cellulitis on my lower leg. I really didn't want to go sit at the court house.
