What a circus our town politics have become.

For the most part many people don't care what us property owners pay in taxes as long as they get theirs.

I posted this question on FaceBook in Dan's Cheektowaga Group

https://www.facebook.com/groups/786798011516293/

Dan, Do you the line items that total up what the town spends yearly to have the public pools?
Check this response out

Wow now we’re hating on public pools! Really???? The fees on the “public pools” are ENORMOUS if you’re not a resident! And even if you are you have to pay $$$$ and time to get and ID card. Or pay a resident fee that is somewhat less than a non-resident fee
You 2 really need a better hobby, you can’t just waltz into the public pools! How about public good do either of you 2 ever EVER think of anyone other than yourselves?

The numbers that were sent to me state:

229,291 to stay open for 42 days. $5,459 per day.

This was sent also

The CBAC is still waiting for 2018 actual numbers from the accounting dept.

SO the following numbers for the pool are from 2017 ACTUAL.

Here is the revenue; Lessons $22,538, passes $8305, Rentals $3204, Now for the expenses :$237,134. for 2019 the recreation committee went over fees for many programs and made recommendations to increase fees for many, especially for non residents because sometimes they paid the same as a resident.
I wonder how much a pass is or how many passes were issued. We can figure out perhaps how many people in town are actually using the pools.

This is up from 2015

For $5000 a day we can just give away 25 pools a day and be done with it.

Intex 15ft X 42in Easy Set Pool Set with Filter Pump, Ladder, Ground Cloth & Pool Cover

$195 bucks

$5000 / $200 = 25 pools.

$230,000 / $200 = 1150 pools

Maybe as a marketing idea we offer people a "free above ground pool" if they purchase a home in the town.
