I was recently reviewing the recently published 2019 Erie Co. InRem Foreclosure list...and cannot believe that there are property owners owing from $5000 to nearly 2 million $$ in property tax arrears since ...some since 1989!
Joseph L. Maciejewski, CCD, Director of Real Property Tax Services...THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! The amount of taxes owed by various property owners for nearly 30 years!! in some cases. Is Dir. Maciejewski, inept, lazy or are there other reasons for Erie co. taxpayers carrying this financial load! Why hasnt foreclosure proceedings begun within 2 years...but waiting 30 years?? Is this how he MANAGES the FINANCIAL welfare of our TAX $$ here $$? AND what about POLANCARZ...unless there is no podium, or announcement for new social welfare programs...is he lost? I encourage you to review the Foreclosure list and see for yourself how lax our tax collector is!! See below ..some outrageous example...a few of many!!

So the address under the certificate no. is the property owed on and the address to the right is the last known owners address?

I was looking up Cheektowaga and spotted

    2007 $872.21
    2008 $1,135.15
    2009 $930.83
    2010 $907.43
    2011 $826.11
    2012 $780.09
    2013 $710.51
    2014 $640.03
    2015 $582.76
    2016 $565.74
    2016 $500.00
    2017 $537.92
    2018 $510.25

Property address in arrears on left...name and address of owner on right ...If you go to websight you will note the format.
in some cases..property in arrears is also mailing address..it may be owner occupied.

    Got it.

You have a point how out of hand some of the tax parcels are.

many of the homes on google maps seem to be lived in at the time the google map photo was taken

    87 NEWFIELD

    2012$553.80 2013$504.45 2014$454.49 2015$413.86 2016$500.00 2016$401.80 2017$382.07 2018$362.45 2019$313.95

    Out of town owners?

    JEANALLAN PROPERTIES LLC
    19G424 W 110TH ST
    NEW YORK NY 10025

Why would someone fall behind on an average of $450 a year... 2012 behind $554 thru 2019 that shows $313.95

I wonder how many of these were the owners first homes and as they got older moved to the burbs.... kept them for rent until it wasn't worth it anymore allowing the taxes to fall behind

Regardless..Our highly paid County officials should be on top of this ..after 2 years...legal action should be initiated...This example of how Maciejewski, CCD, Director of Real Property Tax Services (This is his job...if he cannot do it..he should be let go!) regards his responsibility to the taxpayers...along with other elected County officials who should also be accountable! I wonder how long these officials would sit idle.. if they had to wait years for their paycheck!

Here's a Town of Lancaster employee.

First in rem from September 2018 - a single family residence

Now in the 2019 in rem - vacant land

Imagine that, the taxpayers pay his salary and he doesn't pay his taxes.

There was really no reason to point out that they are a town employee. We don't know the circumstances as to why they fell behind. Could be because of health issues

I'm sorry, if that is the case. He and his wife both work for the town.
    On his LinkedIn page- https://www.linkedin.com/in/carmen-ciccarelli-891979a8/
It states, "making taxpayers happy at Town of Lancaster
    Lancaster, New York"

Apparently, we taxpayers like being stiffed.

What about the properties posted prior to my posting, was their health issues?

All of this information posted by Erie Co. is PUBLIC INFORMATION...WE taxpayers have a right to know ..regardless of who, where and what they are...no one is excluded.... WE TAXPAYERS in E.C. are carrying the financial load of this County Govt. We have ELECTED AND Appointed individuals who have pledged to manage the County in it's best interest.. and their best of their ability...I know this is all BS. in todays' politicians...but unless taxpayers speak up and shout about inadequacies...it will be business a usual..and property taxpayers will take it in the...wallet!

WNY, we don’t know but it doesn’t matter. Where in the Real Property Tax Law does it say you don’t have to pay if you don’t feel well. The law requires that delinquent properties be listed and nobody cares why you’re delinquent. Those who feel badly for the ill are free to pay their taxes. The government really doesn’t care who pays as long as the taxes are paid. I start to feel queasy every year around April 15 but I’ve never been told I’m off the hook for paying

Taxes should be paid regardless of alleged health reasons. County Officials have dropped the ball. The question is why?
Russia didn't make me vote for Trump, Hillary did.
