Republican-Conservative Town Council Candidate Robert Leary

Bob Leary is a Western New York native.

While his devoted service to our nation took him to Washington, Newark, New Jersey, and Columbus, Ohio, in the end, Bob and his wife Irene returned to their beloved Western New York, and established firm and permanent roots here in Lancaster. Bob and Irene and family first lived in Lancaster from 1993 through 1998 before being transferred to Washington, DC and upon retiring from the Federal Government, Bob, Irene and their family again took up residence in Lancaster in 2010 have been proud members of our Lancaster family.

He attended Canisius College where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education.

After his graduation in 1982, Bob answered his nation's summons to service, and along with Irene, departed Western New York for Washington, D.C., where Bob very honorably served the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Investigative Specialist in the F.B.I.'s Foreign Counter Intelligence Program. Bob's F.B.I. service to our nation was exemplary, and he was twice commended for his outstanding work in confronting threats from foreign elements who would do harm to the United States.

In 1985, Bob's sense of duty, and love of country, took him to Newark, New Jersey. In Newark, he served as a United States Marshal, working in the areas of Federal Court security, seized property and the witness protection program.

In 1987, Bob's service with the United States Department of Justice was only interrupted to serve the United States Department of the Treasury. He attended and graduated from the United States Customs Inspector Academy.

Concurrent with his new credential and his association with the Treasury Department, was Bob's return home to Western New York. Here in the Buffalo area, as a United States Customs Inspector, Bob protected the children of Lancaster and all of Western New York, from the criminal elements, including drug-dealing fugitives that attempted to smuggle illegal drugs into our area, and who wrongly tried to facilitate illegal drug distribution in our schools, on our playgrounds, and throughout our neighborhood streets.

So successful was Bob's work, that he was promoted to the Contraband Enforcement Team (CET), and he received numerous commendations for the skillful execution of his duties.

In 1990, Bob continued on with his service in the Department of the Treasury and later the Department of Justice as a Street Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Bob's was initially assigned to violent crime investigations within Western New York and was assigned to the Buffalo DEA Task Force. Bob transitioned on to international money laundering investigations being conducted by organized crime groups and obtained extensive experience with complex financial fraud investigations which were of great concern to the ATF. In a slang phrase, "Bob knows cooked books when he sees them."

Because of his experience-based skills Bob was tasked once again to Washington, D.C., to head up a new ATF National Program dealing with Fraud and Money Laundering and ultimately ended up as an ATF Supervisory Special Agent in Columbus, Ohio. Wherever a need arose, Bob Leary served selflessly.

In 2010, after twenty-six years of distinguished law enforcement service, Bob applied his talents to the private sector, where he continues to serve the interests of the Western New York community combating financial abuse issues, including those, but not limited to, transgressions involving money laundering, terrorist financing and other criminal activities which prey on the hard working people of Lancaster and Western New York.

Bob and Irene have spent over 15 years here and love Lancaster, and want it to become the safest, the most prosperous, and most welcoming town in New York State. Bob remains committed to sharing his talents and expertise with his family, his friends, and all of his Lancaster neighbors. That is why Bob seeks election to the Lancaster Town Council in 2019.

Lancaster is a safer place to raise our children, and to pursue our dreams, in part because of the work of Bob Leary: A patriot, protector, neighbor, friend, and family man.

The truth is, the more you know about Bob Leary, the more you will come to realize, that perhaps there has been no one better prepared to serve on the Lancaster Town Council.

We really need Breezy to step up to the plate to give the Dem view.
Mark does a nice job of presenting the Republican view
Breezy always does a nice job of presenting the Democratic view

I only give personal views of the persons running not push for the candidates of a particular committee for which they run as the other two do.

I am only writing what I heard about them.

But seriously Ms. Gorja, you raise a VERY VALID point. To wit:

I agree in the notion someone from the Democratic party putting out some information on their endorsed candidates. If Breezy can do this without being slanderous, I agree with you. He does bring out information that is helpful, again without calling people names, I would appreciate his/her/them's input

Thank you Mark for your dissertation of the C & R endorsed candidates. I suppose leaving Dawn G. out would be wise

Leaving "Dawn G." out of my commentary is wise, because why on Earth would I include comments concerning "Dawn G." in a narrative which presents Bob Leary's credentials?

You will note that, also unmentioned in my, what you style "dissertation," are the credentials of Messrs. Smith, Rogers, and Magoo.
