The problem with High Speed rail in California is the same problem the 'Green New Deal' from the Socialists. Bureaucracy.

If they would have developed the train like a private business would have, they would started with connecting San Diego to LA. Why?

    1. It's the shortest connection between two major population centers. LA is the 2nd largest city in the US. San Diego is the 8th. Close to 20 million people.
    2. Would have been completed by now and producing revenue.
    3. 'Southern California' is often a destination with tourists moving up and down between the two cities
    4. San Diego has a 1 runway airport that is close to maxing out volume. Light rail would allowed LAX to supplement SAN.

Instead Gov. Moonbeam and the idiots in Sacramento decided to start in Sacramento and connect the Central Valley...which is nothing but farms. They also zig zagged around connecting cities and towns that should not have been on the line but were put there by politicians in Sacramento to keep their voters happy.

HS Rail is never going to happen while any of us are breathing in New York and for those who live there that's a good thing. Because it's the same type of idiot in Albany that exists in Sacramento.
