Cuomo Says Red Flag Bill Will Build On SAFE Act

Cuomo Says Red Flag Bill Will Build On SAFE Act

A bill that would restrict gun possession for those deemed to be a danger to themselves or others will improve the SAFE Act, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s signature gun control law, he told reporters in New York City on Thursday.

The Legislature could vote as early as next week on a package of new gun control measures.

Cuomo is seeking the so-called red flag legislation as well as a ban on bump stocks, devices that allow semi-automatic weapons to mimic automatic fire, as well as a bill that would extend the waiting period to buy a firearm from three days to 10.

I don't agree with the "anti-second amendment" act. Call the "safe act" what it really is to begin with.

"those deemed to be a danger to themselves or others "

The problem with this is they will make it as broad as the "abort your baby up to the due date act" and will use the excuse "They are taking baby aspirin" we feel they shouldn't own a gun.

    This red flag crap...

I have a problem with people who never went to medical school, and who do not have a license to practice medicine, making medical determinations of other people.

I guess Cuomo can't wait to kick off the next civil war here in NYS.

There will never be a "Civil war" in NYS over fire arm rights or any other loss of personal rights. You cant organize a group dig enough to do a Mall walk show of support for our President - there wont even be any public demonstrations of any size even when they ad semi auto pistols and shotguns as assault weapons (as Fienstien wants) !
#Dems put people in the streets - Republicans post and Tweet !
    Just sayin !
#Dems play musical chairs + patronage and nepotism = entitlement !

Wow. You missed all those gun owners showing up at the State Capital building in Albany when Prince Andy first started the Safe Act crap, huh?

"Civil War" - "Tax payer revolt" - I didn't see it - nor did Cuomo !

You'd need thousands more in every state. You'd need weekly shows of support through out the state. Why do they always pass this crad right after getting elected/re-elected - they know dam well nothing can or will be done to stop them.

While I applaud those who showed up in Albany - it didn't stop anything ! This is mainly because the majority in NYS is #Democrat and an increasing number of imported immigrants = Democrats.

So, whats the next move - Cuomo will pass his new restrictions and there will be more .

Have some faith in human nature.

Like absolute power corrupts absolutely, history has repeatedly shown that populations will only tolerant abuse from the "elite class" for so long before doing something about it. And historically that "something" usually includes violence. History will repeat itself, it is inevitable.

The entire state is not democrat, only the major urban areas where democrats are most concentrate in. They are at a huge tactical disadvantage should civil war break out. There really wouldn't be much shooting involved. If you recall the hurricane that hit NYC, they didn't even last the estimated 3 days of available food, they were dumpster diving in 2 days. All that would be needed is for the cities to be blockaded, no supplies in or out. Shut down the power grid. They will be killing each other for a slice of stale bread within a week.

The Dems aren't in as much control as you or they think.

So long as I can go to the store and buy food....and the corner station for gas, none of this political crap will mean a thing. Trumpy brought us closer to civil disorder with the last shutdown. He is hell bent to burn it all down.

    Maybe next time.
