An IED found on highway in Boston, MA!

I only caught a bit of the blurb on CNN, but apparently they found what they think is an IED on a highway in Boston, MA.

    Scary stuff.

Is this is a sign of things to come?

If it is, does it mean that some terrorist followed a returning soldier home???
According to W(orthless), that's the only way that they'd get here.
Time to oil up the shotgun.

    IED = "Improvised Explosive Device"...

    aka - Home-made Bomb

The media thinks they're being cool and hip by using military terminology.

Boston Devices a Cartoon Marketing Ploy

BOSTON (AP) -- At least nine electronic devices planted at bridges and other spots in Boston threw a scare into the city Wednesday in what a cable network said was a marketing campaign for a late-night cartoon.
Highways, bridges and a section of the Charles River were shut down and bomb squads were sent in before authorities declared the devices were harmless.

"It's a hoax - and it's not funny," said Gov. Deval Patrick.

Turner Broadcasting, parent company of Cartoon Network, said the devices, which consisted of magnetic, blinking lights, were part of a promotion for the TV show "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

That was an irresponsible thing to do just for publicity.

The reaction, unfortunately, is the natural consequence of fear-mongering. Public vigilance, awareness and common sense are good. Paranoia and irrational fear are not.

    TV is so good nowadays:

"Aqua Teen Hunger Force," a surreal series about a talking milkshake, a box of fries and a meatball.

Ever hear of Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber?

Ever hear of Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols?

Ever hear of the Symbionese Liberation Army? The Weather Underground?

Ever hear of Thomas Blanton and Bobby Cherry, KKKers who bombed a church in Birmingham, AL in 1963?

    Paranoia and irrational fear?!?

Geez, they planted electronic devices with wires and blinking lights underneath bridges and subway support beams.

I think it's safe to say people would want that investigated under any circumstances. How is that irrational?
