I didn’t grow up here and I’ve always considered the “City of Good Neighbors” horse**** just that, horse****. This is an area full of some of the basest dumbest people on earth. I can’t think of another city in the United States that would consider it a matter of local pride that the locals get absolutely snockered at sporting events and jump through tables for all the world to see. Gee, I wonder why no one wants to locate businesses here!

After reading your strange posts for far too long, I have to conclude that you are "the basest dumbest" poster on this site.

    Just saying!

    Buffalo News called.

Asked for my opinion as to what might have influence what happened at the mall. Wanted to know if I saw buses leaving the mall. I was already home by then. Then pointed out I spelled rukus wrong so I just corrected it. It is spelled ruckus.

    Very nice reporter.

If anyone would like to chat with the reporter who was there or has a solid opinion on this let me know.

I said I think it's a lack of respect of others including the us versus them idea. Security/police vs just people. I should have added lack of family at home doesn't help.

I also mention the trash and carts at various bus stops. Seems like people don't have respect for other people's property.

Some interesting comments being posted on the Buffalo News site.

    Was surprised at this comment

Time to close the Galleria. It had a good run. Almost 30 years. No one will shop there now. Not worth your personal safety to shop at a mall with thugs. Let them ruin their own neighborhoods. Oh that’s right alrighty did that. Never mind.
To say no one will shop there is a bit of a stretch. Now that I'm older I will do a mall walk with a someone so I have some form of exercise. We see people shopping but on the other hand we see a lot of stores that seem empty. We wonder how do they pay their rent.

Shop lifting is rather high also.

Poor simple Breezy. As usual you can’t counter the point so you resort to personal attacks. But that’s ok because I don’t give a **** what you think about anything.

Local retail is in death throes because of online shopping. My guess is interior based retail, such as Walden Galleria, Eastern Hills and Blvd Mall, are also on their way out. As the costs continue to rise (i.e. extra police, etc.) we'll see an end to this...

From what I skimmed on facebook the mall pays about 3,055,000 in property taxes.

Bringing you the brands you love like Urban Outfitters, lululemon athletica, Hugo BOSS, H&M, ZARA, Michael Kors, Eddie Bauer, Oakley and Anthropologie, Walden Galleria has over 200 retailers ready to mix up your clothing collection & offer you the trendiest, quality retail. Apparel isn’t our only specialty: we also offer Pottery Barn & Pottery Barn Kids, William-Sonoma, Apple Computer, Microsoft Store, and more to have you, your home, and your accessories best dressed. Even your smile gets refreshed when you visit our entertainment options. Fun for all, spanning from Billy Beez and Build-A-Bear, to RPM Raceway, 5 Wits Adventure Entertainment or Dave & Buster’s, we even have a Regal Stadium 16 with RPX Theaters.
Let's say there are 200 retailers. We don't know how many more than 200 they have.

$3,055,000 (property taxes) / 200 (retailers) ~ $15,275 on average per retailer ~ $1,272 per month. Remember the rents are based space used. I am just playing with averages.

CPD can easy cost us $135,000 a pop or more. I just went to see throughny.net and they only show base salary. To properly budget you need to factor in all cost. IE: health care cost and benefits.

I wonder how many officers focus on mall issues throughout the year. 10? 15? 1? Let's say 10 officers are used for mall issues. You just wiped away $1,350,000 from that $3,000,000 the town collects in property taxes. If the mall wasn't there the issues wouldn't be there. Know what I mean?

I wonder if the CPD tracks this type of stuff... or if the town board tells them what should be tracked or not.
