    Cheektowaga Central School Tax Hike

Central calls for 4 % TAX Hike. The rate increase is estimated at $1 for every $1,000 of assessed value. This is attributed the increase to districts projected $1.6 million loss in state aid.

If anyone really cared about saving money they would storm the school board meeting and ask the board to consolidate but people must be happy with the current situation.

They have this whole budget vote thing down to a science. Cheektowaga must consolidate into one school district. This would save the taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. We can just dream of the school tax rate going down some 5 to 10 percent because of consolidation. Unfortunately, this will have to be forced on the districts as they will never do this on their own.
