Amherst approves 2019 budget that raises tax rate by 1.73 percent

The Amherst Town Board on Monday approved a 2019 town budget that raises taxes beyond the state tax cap without making any changes to Supervisor Brian J. Kulpa's original proposal.

Taxes in Amherst are going up over 7%, that’s the increase in the levy. The rate is easily manipulated by Kulpa and the assessor. This is almost certainly the highest one year tax increase in Amherst in 50 years. And don’t anyone be deceived by Bucki’s no vote. She wanted even more. Amherst won’t get the property tax rebate from New York because of Kulpas failed policies. This alone cost Amherst taxpayers $9 million. Into the bargain this dope couldn’t even figure how to get his hand picked candidate for town clerk, Fran Spoth, on the ballot. I guess while he was planning to get her on the ballot the time to do so came and went. Amherst has elected a manifestly incompetent person to be its supervisor.
