Where do you get your news?

It is obvious that everyone on SUWNY has a strong opinion. I am curious where people get their information from to form such opinions.

I think it is. Put it this way.....

I feel there are about 20 people on here who bring great info to back their opinion. I know I have learned a lot of things on my short time on SUWNY. Some things have just made my opinions stronger and others have given me a new perspective.

Who has the quote that truth springs from argument. That is so true I feel.

Search by subject. That's the best way.

Usually from little birds. You'd be surprised at what they know.

In all seriousness, this site is a good source of news. I read alot of it, believe it or not. It's like an alternate news source that you can't find anywhere else. Particularly the Speakup "viewpoints" section beats the heck out of the BuffaloNews viewpoints section.

I have read things on this site long before I saw them in the paper or on local TV. Almost like Dejavue (Sp.) ?

Yes, this is a great source for picking up editorials from anti-development, anti-walmart, retired folks.

    For instance, this article

    http://www.speakupwny.com/article_3084.shtml

is all about the proposed WalMart in Alden.

But, when you read the article, you'll notice that 95% of its substance is not aout Alden, at all. It's just your usual anti-WalMart propaganda.

The gentleman who writes the article doesn't provide a disclaimer stating that he may be just a wee bit biased, as he has been fighting a proposed WalMart in his own backyard for many years.

Although, on several ocassions, he has gone out of his way to let us know that his anti-sprawl group has nothing against WalMart, per se. It's interesting that a person who has nothing against WalMart would spend so much time writing about how evil it is.

You do have a point. Why wasn't there so much protest on news items like the new Kohls?

Bflo Snooze, Amherst Bee, Chktg Bee, Ch 2, 4, 7 and last but certainly not least Speakupwny. I agree, I get the hot topics and the "low down" on things that are brought up on Speakupwny before they make it to the news.
