West Seneca Inspector in the Buffalo News

So technically as they say in local governments he could do this. Who monitors the fine line between abusing ones power versus doing their job?

    West seneca inspector

So for years this was going on and it seems people knew about it also.
If the FBI can't "technically" say why he couldn't do this he just relaxes into retirement?

That practice should be something the Attorney general looks into further. He was probably taking the cash -tax free and the members of the town board were aware. WTF? How do they get away with this CRAP? From the posts on the Buffalo News article, it seems that West Seneca isn't the only town with this issue.

How could it be technically legal? Taking money for doing work that didn't need to be done, telling applicants that they had to hire him or else he wouldn't give them their permit? That's not a side job; that is CORRUPTION.

But haven't you watched how the "elected/connectioned" play the rules? They can be as unethical as hell but as long as they technically follow the law, what is ethical or not doesn't come into play.

Just like when someone uses the rules to pad their pension and then uses the rules as the excuse why they happen to be working all the overtime. People bitch they don't want it but when it's the last few years of their job they can't get enough of it.

I know for a fact it isn't!!! This crap has been going on for years but yet it gets overlooked because one hand washes the other. BTW did you see the end of the article the former Lackawanna engineer said he used to do it all the time. There's your proof!

I don't know about other towns, but in WS, this appears to be the norm. He tried to shake me down, but at the time, I worked with engineers and a CAD specialist. They wanted nothing for the help and drawings, which took 20 minutes, so I bought them lunch.

Makes you wonder what else we aren't aware of, doesn't it?

Once you start moving the rock, you won't like what you find. I think if you start looking at the other departments, you'll find things you won't like.

I'm sure of it. But hopefully it will serve as a wake-up call
