    Dan?

Big difference between building a convention center or unicorn farm vs some type of solar facility. If this is true then madame supervisor I’m sure will be having a press announcement

I'm actually ok with using that property even for a solar farm.

BUT not one penny of town tax revenue should go into this project other than a curb cut seeing that piece of property will be on the tax rolls. Especially if someone is making money off the solar panels. No BS "partnership" with the town where we are funding a part of this or not charging property taxes on the lot.

It’s been “cleaned” , never to be built on again and monitored for life
That is a pretty definitive answer. If that rule can be changed for this it can be changed for a shiny new convention center. We can't have people on that property working on solar panels because of the possible health risk. WOuldn't you agree? We could open ourselves up to a lawsuit.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I won’t be eating any of the solar grown on that farm. The Pfohl landfill? I think they can see that from the space shuttle, can’t they? Good Lord.

    Funny...

A solar panel farm is fine. I'm assuming that property is paying property taxes. Might as well let the owner make some money to offset that.

with what is under that ground the panels will self destruct in no time. nothing should be built on that property.
God must love stupid people; He made so many

Panels should be fine. I'm pretty sure we all see grass/weeds growing on that property.

If it happens they will have to dig post holes to mount the panels and that's about it I think. Shouldn't effect drainage or water absorption. So will there be a 5+ year study before the project is allowed to start?

    I don't know but I'm asking..

Does the town currently collect any property taxes from the parcel?

If we do will that stay the same or increase if it's proven the business can operate at that location? The business is going to produce electricity and profit from it. Correct?

Solar panels are always a great idea. In addition to being an eyesore, they’re pretty much useless this time of year. On Saturday I drove by that patch that the whacky at UB have installed. They were covered with snow. Pretty sure they’re not generating squat. But they sure as hell look ugly. As I recollect UB ballyhooed them, including the preposterous proposal that classes and meetings could be held under them. Again proving Einstein’s point that genius has its limits but stupidity knows no bounds.

Here is how I want to look at it. If that parcel is generating revenue for us ugly is fine.
