Thank you gorja for taping the sessions.
In the pre-meeting I noticed that there is still a contentious relationship between Supervisor Coleman & Council member Ruffino. It is in reference to Pre-filed resolution #14 which was sponsored by Ruffino regarding authorization from the Supervisor's office to provide information for Proposals. Supervisor's response to Ruffino was "you do not know what you are talking about.." Wow..
Fast forward to the town hall meeting, Ruffino presents the pre-filed resolution, he waits for a second on the motion, and no council member gives him one. My question would be and it was asked, the why...basically it appears that the contracts are set, and that conducting the research on the process and options was not important enough to give this pre-filed resolution a second. What this tells a taxpayer is, what is the Supervisor hiding? Why can't they indulge other vendor/contract proposals? Isn't it good governance that provides fiscal responsibility by getting more than one proposal?
An interesting speaker came to the podium: Jim Banks who is running against Congressmen Chris Collins. He spoke about Republicanism which is the guiding political philosophy of the United States. He spoke for a bit....
John Bruzo our Legislator stepped up to speak and so did an Aid from Assemblywomen Monica Wallaces office.
I was glad to hear Supervisor Coleman speak at the town board meeting about the steps they had taken to investigate the gas situation at Tops (Rehm Rd) adjacent to Hillview school and the MH4 audit. She spoke of them both at the work session but I was pleasantly surprised when she spoke about them at the regular meeting, as well.
